HOW TO GET TO HILLTOP FARM, from Perth Airports
1. From the Domestic Terminal: Take main exit road leading to Great Eastern Highway (about 1 km.), and turn right there. At the third set of traffic lights don’t veer left (to Guildford) but keep going rightish, through the traffic lights, on to the Great Eastern Highway By-pass.
At the fourth set of lights on this by-pass (about 5 kms.) you arrive at a T-junction, at Roe Highway, and turn left onto it. Continue for about two kms. until the first set of traffic lights which is the Great Eastern Highway, and turn right, to go up the long winding hill – about five kilometres in all – until you reach the top where the road levels off.
*****After you have reached the top, this dual-carriageway highway leads after several kilometers through the town of Mundaring, and then through the smaller village of Sawyers Valley. Continue along this highway until you reach a left-hand turn off signposted to Chidlow and Lake Leschenaultia. (This turn-off is approximately 15-20 minutes drive from the top of the hill.) Turn left onto this much smaller road.
Follow this road through the village of Chidlow, going straight across the roundabout. At the outskirts of Chidlow, do not take a left fork (Liberton Road) but keep going along the Old Northam Road. This becomes Government Road which, after about 6-8 kilometers from Chidlow, takes you into the village of Wooroloo.
Follow the road right through Wooroloo, bearing right after the garage, past The Trading Post shop, and the Church, all on your left. Proceed 1.5 kilometers up a rise and gently down again, taking No Notice of the Lot numbers (on your left) as you pass – which are all out of order! When, just before a right-hand curve, you come to a gravel road on your left with a sign on the ground saying “Hilltop”, you turn left onto this narrow dirt road, for about 200 meters, until you reach the farm’s double gates on the left. Go up the winding driveway to the top of the hill, and there you are!
2. From the International Terminal: Follow the exit road for about 500 meters from the terminal, and take the first turn left, Grogan Road, which is sign-posted “To Abernethy Road”. After about 1 or 1.5 kms, you come to a T-junction on Abernethy Road, where you turn left. Keep going, over a railway bridge, until the second set of traffic lights, at another T-junction. Here you turn right, on to the Great Eastern Highway By-pass. At the second set of traffic lights you come to yet another T-junction, at the Roe Highway. Turn left here – and continue for about two kms. until the first set of traffic lights which is the Great Eastern Highway itself, and turn right, to go up the long winding hill - about five kilometres - until you reach the top, where the road levels off.
From here on, you follow the directions from ***** as from the Domestic Terminal.
