Interesting Places To Visit

The Old Railway Heritage Trail from Northam to Midland runs along the far side of Werribee Road, just opposite the old back gate of the property. This is especially for hikers, cyclists, and horse-riders.

Wooroloo Village is within easy walking distance. It has a general store and a post office as well as the historic stone St. Francis Church, the old station master's house, a wooden ship-lap building which was once the smallest Post Office in Australia and is now open on Sundays for the sale of antiques and curios. A well known local artist, Brian Aylwad, also has an art Gallery next door to the old post office, and this is also open at weekends.

The immaculate El Caballo eighteen-hole golf course and restaurant is only seven minutes drive from the farm.

The Lake Charlotte Winery and Cafe is just five minutes drive away.

Lake Leschenaultia, with its swimming, canoeing, walk trails, cafe and other facilities near Chidlow, is ten minutes drive away.

The Town of Mundaring itself, as well as having a wide variety of cafes, wineries and restaurants, including the nationally renowned Loose Box Restaurant, also has an Arts Centre, Tourist Information Centre, Hills Forrest Activities Centre, and the Mundaring Weir with its open-air cinema and C.Y. O'Connor museum.

Further afield, within a 1/2 hour drive, are the historic towns of York, Toodyay and Northam - centres for the annual Avon Descent white-water race, hot-air ballooning, a motor museum and camel rides.
